Located in Golden Grove, Trinidad & Tobago, Eat Time Chinese Restaurant has garnered attention for its diverse menu and generous portion sizes. Many patrons, such as Roshan Doon, rave about the delightful dishes, particularly the garlic veg rice and chow mein, which resonate well with families looking for tasty comfort food. However, some reviews, like that of Staci Low, suggest that not all offerings hit the mark; the steamed wontons and chow mein left something to be desired due to texture and flavor issues.
One of the standout items is the peppered shrimp praised by Les Dav, especially for those who enjoy a bit of heat. The restaurant's strong suit lies in its ability to serve hearty meals, making it a definite stop for those hungry after a long day. While some customers have noted slow service, the consensus remains that the food itself is worth the wait. If you venture here, prioritize dishes like the beef & broccoli and vegetarian noodles while steering clear of the less popular items. Overall, Eat Time presents a relaxed vibe where satisfying your Chinese food cravings is guaranteed, despite some inconsistencies in service and specific dishes.

Reviews for Eat Time Chinese Restaurant
Review highlights
Based on 314 reviewsEat Time Chinese Restaurant in Golden Grove receives consistent praise for its flavorful dishes and generous portion sizes, making it a popular choice for takeout. Customers often highlight specialties such as peppered shrimp, garlic vegetable rice, and beef with broccoli as standouts. While the food quality is generally well-regarded, feedback indicates some inconsistency, particularly with certain items like wontons and chow mein, which some found less satisfying in texture and sauce balance. Service experiences vary, with occasional reports of slow or indifferent staff, suggesting room for improvement in customer interaction. Overall, Eat Time is favored for its authentic taste and convenient pick-up service rather than in-house dining.
The food tasted good. The portion sizes are big. Stick with the small size. Unless you are eating for 2. If you like hot spice, I recommend the peppered shrimp. The service from 1 member of staff was a bit slow and indifferent.
The food was amazing. My family and I loved it! We had the garlic veg rice, noodles and chunky veg with wontons.
Called to place an order and it was ready by the time I went to collect, roughly 20 minutes. I’d recommend the Veg Noodles, Cantonese Fried Rice and Beef & Broccoli as these were all on point. The Steamed Wantons and Chow Mein however, were horrible. The texture of the wanton skins was thick, coupled with the sauce having too much cornstarch, just made the dish one big gloopey mess. The filling was also hard because they used mini shrimp which was overcooked. The chow mein was bland. Would return knowing which dishes to avoid.
To me the best Chinese food in Tobago. I had sweet and sour chicken, noodles and vegetables
Won't call it a good dining experience, but the food is amazing. Order and pick up is best.
Waiting time a bit off, but if you order 5 dishes then I suppose you will wait lol. The food tasted really good and was worth the wait.
